Our September meet up is scheduled for 1pm on Saturday 10th at the Well pub beside Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. This should facilitate anyone wanting to visit the LEGO Store (or indeed Argos or Art and Hobby in the shopping centre itself).
Our August monthly meeting will involve a change in venue. We will try The Well pub which is on the outside of the Stephen's Green Shopping centre facing the Luas stop. Let's aim for 1pm this Saturday 20th.
Anyone planning to visit the LEGO Store as part of this visit should note that wristbands are in operation so you will need to arrive in the city early to pick up a wristband. The store closes at 7pm each evening.
On 16 and 17 July our second Brick Féile charity fundraiser was held. By all accounts our visitors, members and international guests had a great time. A big shout out to our charity partner, Fairy Bricks and all the volunteers who ran fantastic Tombola, mosaic and 90th anniversary duck build challenges and also to our own members who brought fantastic LEGO models and interacted with visitors throughout the weekend. For those interested in our next Brick Féile please put 15 and 16 July 2023 into your diaries. You can stay up to date with all brick.ie events on Facebook here - https://www.facebook.com/brickdotie .
Last weekend, on 6 and 7 August many of the brick.ie team were also at Dublin Comic Con managing another mosaic challenge devised by Fairy Bricks for the new LEGO store opening.
Brick Féile, Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans returns to CityNorth Hotel on 15 and 16 July 2023.
With custom creations from Ireland's leading model builders, the return of the Fairy Bricks mosaic challenge and our super-sized brick pits plus lots more, it is a date for the diary.
Hi all
This is a quick reminder that Brick Feile, Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans returns this weekend on 16 and 17 July to CityNorth Hotel which is 15 minutes from Dublin airport.
We will have the largest number of LEGO model exhibitors of any Irish event this year and will debut the new moonbase and theme park group projects also. The Fairy Bricks mosaic and giant brick pits will be back while the Emerald Garrison troops will keep us all in check. We will have competitions including a special one for adult fans interested in seeing more of the new LEGO store coming to Dublin. Brick.ie members will also be able to participate in a special 90th anniversary build at the event.
For ticket information check out Brick feile at eventbrite.
Join us in the Black Sheep pub on the recently pedestrianised Capel street for a chat about Lego, the universe and everything. We might raid some local toy shops afterwards.
Our next monthly meeting is scheduled for Saturday 21 May from 1pm in Black Sheep pub Capel Street. Hope to see everyone there.
As summer officially starts (it make take a few weeks for the weather to catch up) the brick.ie team are busy creating the models you will see at Brick Féile this 16 and 17 July. Our international line up is also taking shape with exhibitors from the UK, Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal already confirmed and that is in addition to the mosaic challenge team from our charity partner Fairy Bricks. If any Irish AFOLs have interesting builds they think might be a great addition for the event please reach out to us.
In the meantime tickets remain available at https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-258568504357 but please be aware that some of the family ticket slots are very likely to sell out before the event.
If you can't wait until July for your LEGO fix, some of our Northern Ireland members have been trying some new layouts at various model railway shows.
Our March monthly meeting will take place on 26 March 2022. Assuming COVID rules do not change it is likely that we will resume in-person meetings at the Black Sheep Pub in Capel Street for this meeting. We aim to be there from about 2-ish and typically we finish about 4.30 and then have a browse in the local toystores (Smyths and Toymaster in Jervis Street). We talk about LEGO and lots of non-LEGO stuff over a bite to eat.
Our monthly meeting in February will be a virtual one via TEAMS. It is scheduled for Saturday 19th at 2pm - about 4.30pm. All members welcome. We chat about LEGO and anything else of interest really.
Joining details are posted in the forum a few days in advance.
