Brick.ie Member Model Displayed for Animal Rescue Fund Raiser

A model of the proposed new Drogheda Animal Rescue Centre has gone on display in the D Hotel, Drogheda, as part of the fund raising efforts for the costs of building the actual centre.

Designed by local architect, Florence Shields, and built by her son, James Shields, the model will be on display, and will include a competition to guess the number of bricks it contains. This will be part of numerous events in the town to help secure a new home for this very worthwhile charity.

Do you know where to buy the LEGO Batman Tumbler set?

You wouldn't believe how many times we get this question, about of all sorts of hard-to-find LEGO sets. There seem to be a lot of people looking for the Batman Tumbler in particular, as it was only on the market for a short time, and seemed to disappear before many toy stores had even received stock.

LL-451 Manta

LL-451 Manta

I'd had the basic shape of the LL-451 in my head for a while, but it wasn't till I happened to get hold of a big batch of old grey bricks that I was able to realise it. It relies on stressing elements, using short bricks in the two "wings" with crossbeams at different points to pull them both into curves. I built a back wall out of plates, though there are gaps. For the "command deck" I wanted as smooth a shape as I could manage, so used lots of different curved slopes. The windscreen is an X-Pod, tilted back at an angle.

It was built for the Neo Classic Space 30th anniversary celebration.
