Our February meeting is scheduled for Saturday 20 February from 2pm onwards. Due to Covid, these meetings continue to be held via Zoom calls. Meeting links will be posted in the forum in due course.
Welcome to 2021. Here's hoping it is better than 2020.
While our physical shows are on hold due to Covid we continue to host monthly zoom calls for members. Check the forum for details. Unfortunately we have had to postpone our flagship Brick Féile event again, this time to July 2022 where hopefully we will all be able to safely host events 'in the brick'.
For anyone needing a reminder of what our exhibitions are about, we were fortunate enough to be featured on Ireland AM for International LEGO Day on the 28 January where we had some some models live in the studio. Those needing their LEGO event fix can check out the main segment here: https://www.virginmediatelevision.ie/player/show/809/180968/0/International-Lego-Day .
We also had some models in the Arnotts Department Store Christmas Windows over the holiday period just gone.
Our first monthly meeting of 2021 continues to be a virtual one. Log in to catch up with members on Saturday 16 January from 2pm. Details are in the forum. All welcome.
Our monthly vurtual meeting takes place on Saturday 17 October.
For call details check out the forum closer to the time.
Our September members' meeting is scheduled for this coming Saturday 19 September starting from about 2 onwards. Access details are in the forum. This is one meeting you don't want to miss.
The next (virtual) monthly meeting will be scheduled for 2pm on Saturday 18 July. Details will be outlined in the forum in due course.
As previously advised on social media our flagship event with international visitors, Brick Féile, has unfortunately had to be postponed until July 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions. This will give us even more time to prepare our spectacular models for your enjoyment and it facilitates both the mosaic team from our favourite charity Fairy Bricks and our large contingent of international builders who we hope will once again be in a position to travel with their unique models. Notwithstanding the postponement, we are very hopeful that another Fairy Bricks delivery of sets to Irish hospitals can be undertaken later in the year when restrictions have been lifted somewhat.
The LEGO hobby is well-positioned for building at home. LEGO Shop at Home deliveries are continuing and we were delighted to note that the exclusive LEGO Idea House sets normally only available in Billund have been made available online, albeit only to Irish, UK and Danish customers.
We are delighted to advise that, Brick Féile, Ireland's premier event for Irish LEGO® fans, will be returning this 18 and 19 July only to the CityNorth Hotel.
Organised by brick.ie, prepare to be amazed at the most fantastic LEGO® creations yet assembled at an Irish event, and all in support of the charity Fairy Bricks which since our successful 2019 event expects to have provided over €80,000 of LEGO® sets to Irish hospitals.
Exclusive to Brick Féile will be our international model builders to share their creative genius as well as a first and perhaps only opportunity to see spectacular custom models from Ireland's most creative LEGO® builders. All our Irish and international master-builders will be on hand to chat and divulge their latest tips and techniques.
Of course, everyone likes to get their hands on bricks.
Welcome to 2020.
We've a busy year in store as we plan our 2020 events. Indeed we've already kicked off the new year with our first event in Athy Library last weekend in what is a very impressive re-purposing of a church by Kildare County Council. A great time was had by all as we showcased some new models aswell as old favourites. The standard of builds that emerged from the children in our brick pit was fantastic.
The schedule for 2020 is being worked out but already we can confirm our return to Naas library in May and the Kildare County Show in June. Also, after the success of last year's event, we are happy that Brick Féile, Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans, hosted by the brick.ie team with international exhibitors and the charity FairyBricks will be returning this summer. Further details will be announced later in the year.
Our February meeting is scheduled as normal for the third Saturday of the month in the Blacksheep Pub Capel Street. All welcome for LEGO chat etc. Kick-off around 2-ish.
