For MayThe4th this year I put together a simple little build of the hallway scene at the end of Rogue One where Vader attacks the escaping rebels.
It won't win any prizes for elaborate techniques but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

With the right angle and some light bricks it shows up pretty nice in the dark!

And I finally got the Flickr BBcode to work for me.... Only a bit behind everyone else!
I think I don't have to explain why I made this creation.
I was working since February and finished last week.

I liked the looks of this set when it was released (it reminded me of the Dutch company Mammoet) but decided the truck could do with a few improvements. Larger wheels, different wheel arches, cabin steps and fuel tanks are the most obvious changes to the trucks.
The trailer was definitely too simple but rather than improve I decided to completely rebuild.
Then I was given a second copy of the set and decided to turn them into a little convoy with two different versions of the truck and completely different trailers.

How about this? You'll have to imagine loads of 1x1 round light blue plates to create the effect of water...
EDIT: cracked the curtain of water. Sort of. I'll probably order extra pieces to see if I can get more bars attached.
Something what I had many months in my head.

I haven't been doing much building lately but here is another room i made. This time a little bathroom. Inspired by printed pieces in the Brickheadz. I am using gravity as a legitimate building technique!
I've been somewhat inspired by the Dewback from the latest Star Wars Microfighters. It's not perfect, but I still like the brick built design a lot more than the single piece one that came with the previous version of the cantina. Inspired by this, I decided to have a go a brick building another creature.
This is just a work in progress, but I'm pleased how it's coming on...

It's a Bantha from Star Wars (A New Hope).

It's currently a rough sketch build.
I usually go for the more rustic, subtle colours...but this one might be more of a kid pleaser! I'm going to bring it to a Lego show in Reading tomorrow along with one of my models from last year.
I think there are a few Doctor Who fans...
Various variants of Dalek design. Which do you like best?

Should the eyestalk come from under the top dish (1, 3, 5) or on top (2, 4, 6)? Coming from under is possibly more realistic, but loses the nice stack of 2x2 dishes.
If the eyestalk goes on top, should it use a pneumatic T piece (2 & 4) or a tool wheel wrench (6)? If the stalk goes under, what should go under? Another 2x2 dish (1), a black 2x2 round plate (3) or a dark grey tile with stud in centre (5)?
For the gear levers, should I use ones with black or light grey bases (sadly dark tan ones don't exist)?
Any other suggestions to improve it are welcome.
