My dad commissioned me to design an orrery - a working model of the earth, moon and sun. Version 1 was completed just before Christmas, but it needed some tweaks for stability. So here's version 2, finally finished thanks to "working from home"
Here's a video of it in operation.
This is far from the first Lego orrery (see JKBrickworks, Ryu Yakimoto for examples) but I believe mine is unique in that the centre of rotation of the Earth-Moon system is offset by one stud.
A tree that grew and grew on a rock.
As you can see, nature will always find a place to survive.

Dreaded by sailors across the globe and throughout the centuries, sea serpents are the most fearsome monsters of the unknown deep. Long before the corners of the maps were shaded in, these legendary creatures lurked in uncharted waters, emerging through the roiling waves to swallow hapless seamen and destroy entire ships.
It is difficult to know the origins of the legend; tales of sea serpents spread from port to port over thousands of years, taking particular hold in places such as the Middle East, North America, Scandinavia and Great Britain.
This is the fifth model in my Legends and Lore series. It is comprised of 6,438 elements, took four weeks to design and create and was completed in February 2020.
I admit that I didn't watched any of those Ninjago episodes on tv.
If I would have watched them, I might had a clue what it is with those arcade pod sets.
So I had to figure it out by myself.
Check it out:

Turned out they are super awesome!

Something what I wanna build with my name or nickname.
It take 4 hours to build and it's working.
It will be nice addition on my display at the events.

It's not my design - I reverse engineered from this one by Flickr member Letranger Absurde:

While it's fun building original designs, sometimes it can be nearly as much fun unpicking another builder's design to see how they've built it. I think the external appearance of mine is pretty close, I expect we'll have some internal differences.
Hi all,
I've already posted the two buildings shown here, but I've added quays and roads to tie it all together.
Here's an overview of the whole thing:
I'm starting to see the flaws in my road system, which has been partially built for some time but never suspended above the table until now, and it's a bit flimsy. Can't say that I'll ever go full-MILS, but I do need to toughen things up with baseplates before I expand the city any further, so I'll probably end up adopting the standard road section height at some point.
The Christmas holidays gave me a bit of time to complete the fourth installment in my "Legends and Lore" series.
The Kyuubi no Kitsune (Nine-tailed Fox) is a well-known character in Japanese folklore. This magical creature lives for an incredibly long time and grows a new tail for each century of spiritual training and wisdom. Upon gaining its ninth tail, the Kitsune has reached its full powers and its tails may begin to turn golden or white in colour.
Some of you saw the work-in-progress X-Wing come a cropper during the Wacky Racers event at the member's day.
These will be featured in future versions of my Battle of Hoth display, replacing the various ones from sets I've been using up to now.

Each one is based on a specific fighter from the movies.
This is my improved version of a tree I made a few years ago. Some of you will have already seen it as part of my layout in the Blessington. The new version is larger and more sturdy than the older one. I have provided some extra photos on Flickr of a cutaway part and the key elements I used to get it to branch out in several directions.
