The Royal Academy

Hey everyone!

I'm fairly busy these days so I'm happy to report that despite long hours at work and plenty of other small things being in the way I finally finished another MOC again.

Much like the windmill I posted earlier this summer its a castle building, this time – as the title suggests – an educational establishment, complete with a library and lots of different lecturers and students alike.

I tried out some new things with different wall textures, played around with hockey sticks and other accessories – and am especially fond with that tree on the right. It took me almost a year of playing around with the feathers to arrive at something I liked but thankfully the patience finally paid off Smiling

Financial Services Centre

I recently moved away from building residential and low level commercial buildings for a bit to start a couple of office block style builds (homeless minifigs need not fret, I'm back building some flats right at this moment).

These 2 sections were intended to be part of a larger Financial Services Centre and thought I'd share before I take the wrecking ball to the twisty tower.

I bought more parts to build the tower higher so the tower completes one full revolution on itself but at this current height it has reached maximum height allowed as per my city planning regulators. For the tower to fully work however my feeling is that it does need to go fully around itself and so this was a costly blunder.

As such it is on the way out.

Desk Calendar Extension

The set 40172 desk calendar has cubes for the day and month.

Fetching set 40172-1...

I had a spare set, so I thought it would be fun to add cubes for the day of week. All the days of the week can be represented (in English) with two cubes. The first cube has the letters M/W, T, F and S, and the second cube has O, U, E, H, R and A, which covers the first two letters of every weekday. This might not be easy to do on two cubes in some languages.

Freighter Wars: The Canary

Freighter Wars: The Canary by James Shields, on Flickr

The Royal Andelussian Navy had long used Corellian Freighters for a variety of roles, and was quick to place a large order for the newly launched YT-1210. However, when this line was quickly superseded by the YT-1300, rumours were rife that the YT-1210 line was defective.
