I can confirm Tesco in Limerick (Crescent Shopping Centre) have Series 4 in stock as of today. €2.49. Great news!
Please post if you see them in stock anywhere else!
Is the big crane truck 8258 still in a shop somewhere?
Talking about a blast from the past. Today I picked up two 9v switching track sets (4531) in Art & Hobby Newbridge! They were full price but given their scarcity these days I succumbed and added them to my 9v stock. Other stock fillers seemed to be Duplo train track - there were lots of the straights and curves (6 packs) for 6.99.
No sign of new sets in-store yet, but Smyths have a couple of the City Space sets (Shuttle, satellite launch) listed now on the online catalogue and Ninja-go is listed as a category (no sets listed yet).
...have started appearing in US stores. I'll let you know if I hear anything about when they'll be getting here.
And, as expected, there are no secondary barcodes for identifying individual figures.

I finally visited the new Tesco extra store in Naas today. I'm not sure if all Tesco extra stores are as large as this one but the Naas store had a much larger range of Lego than I've ever seen at a Tesco store. The largest set available was the fire station but unlike the other stores there was a decent range of star wars, city and some Atlantis sets. The prices vary a fair bit with the older star wars battlepacks under €11 and the newer ones over €14. The latter is more expensive than Smyths. Indeed I was surprised that Tesco was more expensive for most items. Emperor Palpatines stood out as a €96.99 item compared to €69 in Tesco.
Not the cheapest but a useful alternative for the mid-size and smaller sets.
lego.com released it today a day early. anyone got a idea when smiths or argos will have it.
Looking forward to it
There are reports in today's newspapers that Toys-r-US is coming to Dublin with two possible near-M50 locations mentioned (one north side and one south side). Might bring some competition for Smyths where prices have increased a bit this year (perhaps with less competition from Byrnes World of Wonder). My interest would probably be in any TRU exclusives e.g. chrome star wars minifigs as TRU doesn't have a reputation for being cheap. In fact I think for people like myself who buy a fair bit of Lego the new VIP LS@H programe combined with like for like pricing with bricks n' mortar stores has introduced more competition already.
Smyths Toys have dropped the PoP Lego prices - €10 for Hassansins (was €12), €16 for Ostrich Race (was €18), €32 for Fight for Dagger (was €38), €42 for Race Against Time (was €50).
Now, I just wish I had been stronger in resisting temptation to get Fight for the Dagger so soon!
I just finished counting... 735 old grey/brown for 10 pounds delivered. Keep searching all ; )
God Bless,
Nathan
