To promote Brick Féile and for some learning and fun I have organised a Brick Week in my school for the past couple of years. Each child gets to build a creation linked with Brick Féile (this year was an animal and its habitat to tie in with the Zoo Group Project), there is a Guess the Minifigures in the Jar contest, I share some videos of techniques and interesting Lego-related fun from youtube, the children get to do some Lego activity and colouring sheets, and finally the week finishes off with an exhibition in our school library.
This year for the exhibition I brought a moc of Castletown House, a Georgian house in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, and three of its rooms (which will be at Brick Féile).

For about 6 weeks leading up to the exhibition, my son and I worked on 9 micro cities

and some modular buildings as I hadn't built anything in a year and had no new mocs.

We tried to share some of our techniques with the children by showing and explaining how we made these and what parts we used. The micro cities are great because children who have Lego should have pieces to be able to create buildings on that scale and put them together to create a city, so in a way, its possible for them to actually make their own.

I used The Lego Neighborhood and Lego Micro Cities books for these.

I also brought along a James and the Giant Peach moc

and a Super Mario mosaic.

And finally, Coolguy5000 was very kind to loan me some superhero mosaics for the exhibition.
