I designed this in stud.io almost a year ago. Finally got the last parts the week before last in a couple of Bricklink orders and got it built over a couple of evenings this week.

Although I originally designed it in the new green and dark green livery, I thought the old lime and dark blue was a much nicer look, so since there are still plenty of them in operation in those colours I've stuck with that. Perhaps one day I'll make another in green and dark green and run them in a mixed-livery double-header, as frequently seen on the Maynooth line

This is my first time building a train MOC - in fact I only got my first Lego train last summer when Argos had 60197 on special offer - so I'm delighted with how it turned out and amazed that it actually runs smoothly! I've turned it all the way up to top speed on my small loop of track and aside from looking faintly ridiculous at that speed it runs perfectly.
