Is this actually exclusive to Tesco?
I sent in an email query to Smyths about the pirate advent calendar (with the set number included) and was told at first that they were not going to be stocking it. However, a week or two later I received a response that suggested they will be stocking it (apparently the person I corresponded with asked the head buyer).
Just a heads-up for anyone who hasn't managed to get one yet and is intending to. (I bought three - two on behalf of family members - from Germany on ebay for €18 each incl. postage).
I see reports on Eurobricks that another Mirror Lego promotion starts this weekend. This time around its 12 sets, half of which are city sets. The tractor on Monday next looks particularly good. I'm assuming that the promotion will operate here also although I don't know yet how many tokens will be required for any mail in. This time last year I availed of the mail-in option while also picking up other sets along the way.

Well, Winter Toy Shop is now available on S@H. Only one problem, it's yet again at "Screw Irish customer" prices.
I'll have to get this set somehow though - it's wonderful! Anyone putting in a UK order that wouldn't mind putting in for one extra and meeting up in Dublin with it?!
When picking my Stormtrooper speeders up from Smyths, I saw that they have *all* the Lego Games in stock now. They had them on the end of the Lego aisle just opposite the check-outs, so if they are a sensible product proposition at all, they should sell quickly! Very prominant position for such a new product - Lego are getting every help from Smyths at any rate!
The prices are the same as S@H.
The Daily Mirror promo worked for Smyths anyway as I couldn't resist buying Monsters4 for the interesting heads (plus the other parts are useful).
Dear Ambassador,
I just noticed that two new sets are available on Shop at Home; 10197, the Fire station, and 10198, Tantive IV. Again Ireland is more expensive. In most countries they cost €150 or €160, we're paying €175.
The same is true for most exclusive sets. This is not just a VAT issue. In the Netherlands VAT is 19%. That means the pre-VAT price would be €126,04. Add to this the Irish VAT of 21,5% and you'd get a retail price of €153,14. Not quite 175...
Please mention this again. I'd love to know if they've sold a single Exclusive set in the Republic this year...
The UK Daily Mirror has a star wars Lego promotion starting this weekend and running over the next week or so. Its similar to last year in that you collect coupons in the paper and visits ToysrUS or WHSmith (in UK) each day to collect the sets. Last year the Irish version of the paper had the same deal except you had to go to Smyths to collect the sets or failing that post away for the sets having accumulated at least 7 coupons.
The New Argos catalogue is out. I wonder have high LS@H prices anything to do with Argos as the Argos prices make LS@H look cheap.
I posted this to a Eurobricks topic on S@H prices, and while undoubtedly everyone here is familiar in general with Smyth's and S@H prices, I thought this might be of interest:
Comparison of prices between Smyth's (online catalogue) and S@H, Wed 22 July:

Does anyone know much about our international mail? Mainly, does it travel through the U.K? Even though the strike they're having is said to be small, i'm a little worried about some stuff.
2 packages from America, sent a week and a half ago still haven't shown up. Usually they arrive within 5 days.
Same goes for 2 packs I sent, one to Britain and the other to the states, on the same date as above. Neither have reached their destinations yet.
Maybe i'm a little impatient or paranoid, but its never been this bad for me.
